Give Light Home & Community Project Site Plan

The site of the Foundation will comprise of an Orphanage which hopes to accommodate 75-100 orphans, a Mosque with a capacity for 1000 people for worship, a Free Health Care Clinic, an Education & Vocational Training Institute, a Community Center/Banquet/Conference Hall which may be used for many purposes including a Disaster Relief Site, as well as rent-able Storefronts.

The City of Athulugama, Sri Lanka was carefully selected as the project site, given the highly dense population of over 20,000 people that reside with less than minimal resources and facilities made available by the local government for its local community to survive. Many families barely survive with poor or no health care facilities nearby, any community center for resources, and no employment or vocational training so they can gain employment to support their families.  Many children are forced to live in substandard conditions as they have been orphaned or abandoned at a very young age. This project hopes to provide a backbone of support to its local community through its various resources and most importantly serve as a home for the orphaned children of Sri Lanka.

The images below are of the architectural plans of the proposed site. The construction of the orphanage is planned to begin early September 2011, and be completed within a year. The construction of the Mosque is proposed to begin by January 2012 and the Community Center to begin by July 2012.

Our Award Winning Project Contractor

Our contractor for the project was carefully selected out of four top contenders who submitted tenders for consideration. The tenders were carefully reviewed by our Board and Civil Engineering Consultants who recommended awarding the contract to Wahid Construction Corporation.  They are a highly reputed, ISO Certified, M1 Level contractor and were chosen based on competitive price, turn around time and expertise in the area.  Please visit their website below to learn more about organization that will be responsible for the building of this project.
