Opening of the Mosque
The Masjid named Bayt Ur -Rahman ( The house of the Most Merciful or House of Allah) was opened to the public on the 15th of May, Friday 2015 during Farj prayer with over 600 people who participated in blessing this occasion with prayers and Supplication. The 1st Jummah was also conducted the same day which we had an overwhelming amount of participants of close to 2,000 patrons. The capacity of the Masjid was 1200 and therefore the overflow was accommodated in the hallways, walkways and also outside the Masjid. The following days after the opening showed great success. There were between 300-500 people during prayers of Isha and Fajr each day at the Masjid which more than proved the need of this Masjid in the area. Additionally the children of Give Light home get to pray all 5 daily prayers in congregation.
We have a full time Imam at the Masjid and cleaning staff for its regular maintenance. The local team is planning to have Arabic, Quran Memorization and various other classes to be provided on an on going basis in the Masjid immediately. We are excited for the 1st Ramadan where we plan to have a full program for the community during the entire month with Tharaweeh, Qiyam and many other programs.
