About Mr A.A.M. Marleen
ABDUL AGEED MOHAMED MARLEEN was born on 16th November 1938 and after being educated at Zahira College, Colombo he entered Law College in the Year 1963 and Passed out in the Year 1966. He took oaths as an Advocate of the Supreme Court of Ceylon on 23rd June 1966. Late Mr. Marleen was a lawyer by profession and excelled not only in the Courts of Law in Colombo but also in the outstations where he was very often sought after. He was conferred as a President’s Counsel by Her Excellency the President of Sri Lanka on 12th March 2001. He was appointed as the Ambassador of Sri Lanka in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in march 2008 and was the ambassador there until his sudden demise in Sanaa, Yemen while representing Sri Lanka at a conference on 23rd June 2009.
