Description
This Sinhalese speaking little newcomer to the Home, comes from Galle. Having lived with Mother and Grandmother, he moved very recently to GLH with his younger brother.
Abdul Rahman smiled a lot, but was a bit shy in the presence of an unknown person asking questions about himself. Just having started schooling after he joined the Home, he tells me he has picked up some basic conversational Tamil from the other boys.
Getting along well with all the boys, he enjoys playing Carom with them the most. Giving some thought to my question on his ambitions, he told me he would like to become a Teacher.
[ It was later revealed to me by the Mother, that Abdul Rahman and his brother Abdul Raheem were new entrants to Islam, and that they were still learning the nuances with help from the educators at the Home.]
