Description
Hasni is from Kanthalai, and belongs to a family of which most members are scattered around. His mother is overseas, and his older brother and sister are away at different madrasas. His youngest brother is the only one at home, cared for by other relatives.
Hasni speaks good Tamil, and tells me he works on his English at school and also at the home, where one of his favorite pastimes is reading English books.
Like the other boys, he too enjoys playing Cricket and Badminton with his friends, Nizam being the closest to him. He likes the environment at the home; where he is taught well, looked after well, and where he gets help with reciting the Qur’an.
When talking about ambitions, Hasni tells me that he already pens down some poetry, and would willingly work on someday making poetry his livelihood.
