Description
Young Zaid is a Colombo boy. With a spark about him, and a vibe of genuine happiness, he seemed to have made some peace with himself. Before he came to GLH he lived with his Mother, Grandmother and two school-age sisters.
Conversing with me easily in Tamil, Zaid told me his two favorite subjects in school were Mathematics and Tamil. He also enjoys playing Cricket, and does so both at school and at the Home.
Naushard nana is his friend in the Home, which he says is a good place to be. His description of his routine at the home, he listed out gaily, as play, study, recite, eat and sleep.
Getting serious when I asked him about his future, he said the plan was to study, grow up, and take care of his mother. He also wishes to join the Police force when he grows older.
